HOMEGIRLS AND HANDGRENADES by Sonia Sanchez

Great book of poems and prose. This time around, I liked the prose best. My favorites were the one about meeting an old woman in the park and talking about loving pretty men, the one about the drug addict that she loved and who robs her at the end, and the one about Bubba, a dude in Harlem who she sees while she’s in college and then one last time after graduating.
