THE ARGONAUTS by Maggie Nelson

This book mixes family life, gender criticism (a lot of Sedgwick, some Butler, etc), and professional experiences. It’s basically a memoir about Nelson and her trans partner, his son, and then eventually Nelson’s son that she has with a sperm donor. It’s a really sweet story and Nelson is a really sharp thinker. The last page made me cry. It’s about her step son loving her baby so much, offering people to touch his soft head or grabbing him and saying “he’s mine, all mine.” So cute.

My book about dating as a single mother is available at the Montclair Book Center and on Amazon and in person if we cross paths.
