ON WRITING by Stephen King

On Writing: A Memoir Of The Craft by [King, Stephen]

I never read a Stephen King novel before, but this made me want to read Carrie. I didn’t know he was an alcoholic cokehead for some time and barely remembers writing certain books because of it–actually that’s what interested me in the book in the first place. When I heard he talked about his drug use in the book, I asked to borrow it from a friend.

I liked reading about his writing process over the years and as a part of his daily routine. I also loved the way he writes about meeting his wife in college. They were in the same creative writing class, and she brought in a poem (that he included in the book). He remembered sitting on the floor next to her while she talked about her poem and that he just felt very connected to her.
