This is a collection that covers Klein’s time between doing his dissertation and then eventually losing tenure as a professor (a couple decades apart).
My favorite one was “The Slow Reading Group,” a short poem about being loved up by his mother while she helps him get better at reading. But then getting into the fast reading group implies that they stopped reading and cuddling together as much. Very sweet and sad. Other good ones cover the logic behind marrying his second wife and thinking about being in academic spaces that William Carlos Williams may have been in before.
