JaTyrone Hollis (age 20) already spent two years in a Texas prison and was facing the death penalty. At 17, he was charged with capital murder, following a robbery that lead to the shooting death of another 17-year-old, Isaiah Jones.
Hollis admits to being present during the incident but has always said that he had nothing to do with the crime. Surveillance cameras show he never got in the car, and there was no DNA or fingerprints. Most notably, there were other suspects who were never pursued after they caught up with Hollis.
A week ago today, Hollis was released.
