Police and epidemic control units in Shanghai and a few other cities now have smart helmets that quickly scan people’s body temperatures. They ring if anyone has a fever within a 5-meter radius. The helmets are lightweight and also have features like facial recognition (which is common already), wifi, and Bluetooth.
The smart helmets are one of many ways high risk areas in China have been monitoring coronavirus through the use of technology. Major railway stations have had temperature screening systems since early February. There are also various kinds of disinfecting robots and drones doing scheduled cleanings.
