This book tells Hase Trek’s life story from playing sports as a kid to going to college to having kids. It’s based in and around Newark, New Jersey, and a lot of the content reflects that location. The mishap in NYC, how the cops talk and drive around and don’t show up, and scenery like the Garden State Parkway or certain college campuses.

He mentions that coming out of Newark, there are three typical paths a person might take: basketball, football, or gang banging. He went for basketball. Made it through college. Regular shit, did “the right thing.” But he still goes through the same old BS–situations with police, a lot of cheating, a lot of court drama. It’s real life.
