Girls From Da Hood is a good hood book that consists of three short stories, each written by one writer–Nikki Turner, Chunichi, and Roy Glenn. Their stories center around the lives of women navigating street life. These women all deal with jail (or their partner’s going to jail), sex (or the blurry lines between sex and love and betrayal), and money (or lack there of). Still, it’s easy reading. This book is moves quickly–their lives speed by, often too fast for them to grab a hold of it themselves.
